Fly Fishing
Cashiers’ own Jackson county is home to the first designated “Fly Fishing Trail” in the US. The Western North Carolina Fly Fishing Trail features some of the best trout waters in the Great Smoky Mountains. The Trail takes you to 15 prime spots for Brook, Brown and Rainbow trout. Whether searching for quantity or size, open water or small streams, the WNC Fly Fishing Trail has it all. A detailed trail map is available here.
For a more casual outing, cast a fly on Norton Creek, stocked and managed by Trillium.
Expert guide services and fly fishing lessons are also available.

Catch-and-release any day from the banks of the pond with no license required.
You’ll find appropriate fishing equipment at Lakewood Lodge.
